Organisation
From January 1st 2023, GeoSphere Austria is Austria’s Federal Institute for Geology, Geophysics, Climatology and Meteorology.
GeoSphere Austria was founded in 2023 through the merger of Austria’s geological survey GBA and the national weather and earthquake service ZAMG. With more than 300 years of joint experience and over 500 employees, it forms a unique interdisciplinary framework.
