Climate Change in Austria
Different world regions are affected by human-induced climate change to varying extents. Since the pre-industrial era, Austria’s average annual air temperature has increased at twice the rate of the global average.
The state of the atmosphere over extended periods, from years to millions of years, in interaction with bodies of water, land masses, ice surfaces, and living organisms is referred to as climate. It not only shapes the natural environment but also has a significant impact on society, influencing agriculture, infrastructure, health, and many other areas.
