Another earthquake followed on March 10 at 23:57 CET near Pöls, Styria (47.21°N, 14.57°E). With a magnitude of 1.9, the effects were only noticed slightly by very few, the intensity reached 2 to 3 (EMS-98).

A very weak magnitude of 1.0 earthquake was localized near Niklasdorf, Styria (47.39°N, 15.18°E) on March 13 at 03:36 CET. It could be felt as isolated tremors and rumblings, the intensity was 2 to 3 on the EMS-98.

On March 19, the earth shook at 20:31 CET west of Sulz im Wienerwald, Lower Austria (48.10°N, 16.10°E). The tremors of the magnitude 1.9 earthquake were clearly felt in the area of the epicenter in Grub and Sulz, and a bang was heard, too. The intensity reached 4 on the EMS-98.

Intensity Scale EMS-98

Excerpt from the short form of the 12-level European Macroseismic Scale 1998, based on Mercalli-Sieberg.

  • Degree 2 Scarcely: The tremor is felt only by a very few individuals at rest and in a specially receptive position indoors.
  • Degree 3 Weak: The earthquake is felt indoors by a few. People at rest feel a swaying or light trembling. Hanging objects swing slightly.
  • Degree 4 Largely observed: The earthquake is felt indoors by many and felt outdoors only by very few. A few people are awakened, the vibration is moderate, slight trembling of the building or room. Glasses, windows and doors rattle, light furniture shakes visibly.
