Expert-Portal

The Expert-Portal offers the ability to automatically analyse measured values of various meteorological parameters on a daily basis by address online. For Austria, the parameters lightning, storm, temperature, precipitation and hail can be analysed. Some of these parameters are also available in the Expert-Portal for Germany and Switzerland.

• Lightning: The lightning query enables address-related queries for a specific time period. The registered lightning activity is displayed on a map. A table shows further detail such as time of discharge and distance to the queried location.
• Storm: The storm query provides hourly maximum wind gust values and a storm indicator for a representative area for the date and address queried. The measured values are also displayed graphically and the underlying weather stations are shown on a map.
• Temperature: The temperature query provides hourly air temperature values for the requested date and address as a graph and table, as well as the extreme values for the day.
• Precipitation: The precipitation query provides an overview of the amount of precipitation that has been recorded in the area around an address. The daily precipitation sum including the maximum precipitation sum per hour as well as snow depth and fresh snow amounts of the nearest weather stations are given.
• Hail: The hail query enables address-related queries for one day and shows the probability of hail occurring in the specified area on a map.
• Weather info: The Expert-Portal also provides detailed information for categorising current weather conditions: The "Climate Monitoring" web service provides daily updated information on the state of the climate in Austria since 1961 in the form of maps, time series, tables and texts. "Climate extremes" shows averaged daily values from 1961 onwards for the area of Austria and the federal provinces, while the "Severe weather chronicle" provides information on severe weather events in Austria from 1961 onwards, such as heavy rain, hail, lightning, flooding and much more.

The Expert-Portal has a modular structure and can be accessed in the form of customised query packages. All the parameters listed above are available for Austria. The parameters lightning and storm are also available for Germany. For Switzerland, the Expert-Portal offers analyses of lightning, storm, temperature and precipitation.

All analyses can be exported and saved as PDF files or directly be sent by e-mail. Person responsible and claim number can be noted on the PDF.
