PreCaST - Prediction of Convective hazards across Spatio-Temporal scales

Together with ESSL and ECMWF, the predictability of hail and convective gusts is being investigated and efforts are being made to improve predictability. This will be achieved by implementing a stochastic microphysics/hail scheme in AROME/C-LAEF and by expanding convection diagnostics (in AROME and ECMWF). An evaluation is planned, among other things, as part of the ESSL testbed.
