Installation "Geology is round" for EURO 2024

To mark the European Football Championship, GeoSphere Austria's Neulinggasse site is putting on a public exhibition in its large shop window.

Polished rock spheres from all participating countries illustrate the diversity of Europe's geology. Initially, they are arranged according to the six groups of the European Championship - but they will be continuously regrouped as the game progresses. Whether the 2-billion-year-old granite from Ukraine, the 400,000-year-old freshwater limestone from Hungary or even the tectonite from the Cretaceous period from the ASFINAG A10 Tauern Tunnel construction site will be at the top remains to be seen. Everyone is cordially invited to view the interesting rocks and follow the development of the installation from the public space!
