GeoSphere Austria at the ‘Österreichischer Bergbautag 2025’

The ‘Österreichischer Bergbautag 2025’ took place in Waidhofen an der Ybbs from 6 to 8 May.

In Austria, the annual ‘Österreichischer Bergbautag’ (organized by ‘Bergmännischer Verband Österreichs’)  is the main event in the mineral raw materials sector bringing together experts and practioneers from the mining industry, academia and governmental organizations. At this year’s meeting the principal issues discussed included measures to reduce fossil energy consumption and CO₂ emissions in the mining and processing stages as well as initiatives aiming at increasing mineral supply from domestic sources in the context of the EU ‘Critical Raw Materials Act’. The role of GeoSphere Austria in investigations regarding the mineralization potential of Austria was presented by Thomas Angerer (Head of Competence Unit ‘Mineral Resources’).
